The formative years of a boy at a boarding school in southern Brazil. A moving story about the trials of adolescence, the experiences and encounters that shape us, and the reckoning we must, sooner or later, make with the past.

Rafael comes from a modest family, and sees in the chance of becoming a Lutheran pastor a way out of all his problems. Admitted on a scholarship to the Evangelical School, he soon discovers that his plans have collapsed: the pre-theological course has been discontinued. And yet, this detour proves to be the beginning of the great transformative experience of his life. The novel follows Rafael through his days and nights at school (and his escapes beyond its walls), capturing all that means to an adolescent in the making: friendships, passions, drunken nights and discoveries.
