In Pssica, “curse” in Amazonian slang, a teenager is kidnapped in downtown of Belém and sold to nightclubs and brothels in Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana. An Angolan immigrant has his small grocery store attacked by the pirates of the Amazon, the “water rats”, and seeks revenge for his murdered wife. Among the “rats” is a young man who will soon take over as the leader of the group. These three characters meet on a dizzying journey of sex, theft, drugs and murder.
